New Quay is a bustling seaside village on beautiful Cardigan Bay in Wales. It boasts friendly locals, good pubs and restaurants and wonderful unspoiled scenery. It is famous for it's safe blue flag sandy beaches and it's bottle nose dolphins who live in the bay and regularly swim in the harbour. Boat trips are available and some specialise in wildlife spotting.
There are many paths along some of the most spectacular cliffs in Britain. Some paths lead straight from the village, so you can forget about the car.
There is also a Dylan Thomas trail around the village as the famous poet once lived here and many of his characters from Under Milk Wood were based on local people.
The annual New Quay Music Festival is held over the first weekend in August and the Yacht Club holds a regatta later in the same month.
New Quay is an ideal centre for exploring Mid Wales. Whether you like visiting quiet coves and beaches or exploring larger towns like Aberystwyth, Cardigan or Carmarthen there is a tremendous variety of attractions for everyone. No wonder people are beginning to call Cardigan Bay the new Cornwall.
A short distance inland you can discover wild rugged mountains and moors or visit old lead mines, take a trip on a steam train, have tea at an historic home or just simply chill out. Wales has something for everyone
